Adding a goal

In the free version of Thumsters you may add one goal per child at a time. Once that goal has been achieved and either awarded, or stored as a reward, another goal can be added. In Thumsters Plus, multiple goals can be added and worked towards at a time.

There are two ways to add a goal. One is when a thumb is given, in the 'assign to a goal; screen. Down the bottom of the screen is a box 'Add a Goal +'. The second way is in the Dashboard screen, this is the second icon down the bottom of your screen that looks like two purple squares on top of one another with a purple rectangle next to them. Click on the 'Goals' tile (top left), then click on the + symbol in the top right hand screen corner.

Both ways will lead you to the 'Give (child's name) a new goal' screen.

Enter the Goal Name (this is what the child is working towards and what the thumbs will be added to/taken from). There are some preloaded suggestions or, you can enter your own goal name in the text box. Once chosen, press confirm.

> Customize by giving an emoji. 😍

> Allocate the goal a value. This is the number of points a child will get via thumbs to achieve the goal.

Goal Repeat: Families often have certain goals that repeat such as screen time or dessert. If you would like a goal to automatically set itself up again once it's been achieved, switch to on/green.

> Check the details are correct and hit confirm to set the goal up.

Once a goal has been achieved, it is automatically stored in the 'Rewards' part of the goals tile screen, where it can be redeemed.

A GOAL is what your child is working towards by getting thumbs up (and where the magic of positive reinforcement comes in!) and a REWARD is what a goal turns in to and can be redeemed, once a goal has been achieved by your child.
