Thumb

The main action taken in Thumsters. A thumb is used to encourage or deter certain behaviors and habits. A "thumbs-up" rewards positive actions, while a "thumbs-down" addresses undesirable or negative behaviors. This intuitive system helps parents, teachers, and therapists to effectively guide and modify children's actions.

Reason

Each thumb is assigned a reason. A reason is a specific behavior or habit that the thumb tracks. By categorizing actions with reasons, users can gain insights into behavior patterns and target areas for improvement or encouragement. Each reason is assigned a value which is then added to or subtracted from a goal, or transferred into 'Thumbucks' or taken from the bank. Free version of Thumsters has a selection of the most common thumbs up and thumbs down reasons. Thumsters Plus Thumsters Families may customize thumbs up and thumbs down reasons and values, making it unique to their family dynamics.

Thumbucks

The main currency in Thumsters. Thumbucks are earned when a thumb is given, with the amount depending on the reason assigned. This currency acts as an incentive, motivating children to practise positive behaviors, and reinforcing these behaviors over time turning them into healthy behavior habits. Thumbucks and the Thumb Bank are available on Thumsters Plus.

Thumb Bank

The Thumb Bank is where all a child's Thumbucks are collected. It serves as a digital repository where children can see their earned Thumbucks and decide how to spend them. The Thumb Bank also allows children to track their progress towards various goals, fostering a sense of accomplishment, ownership of behavior choices, and financial literacy. Thumbucks and the Thumb Bank are available on Thumsters Plus.

Goals

A goal is a reward that a child aims to achieve by collecting thumbs up or Thumbucks. Goals help to set clear, attainable objectives for children, encouraging them to work towards positive behaviors consistently, creating healthy behavior habits over time. One goal per child may be set up at a time on the free version of Thumsters, multiple goals are available with Thumsters Plus.

Rewards

Once a goal is met, a reward is achieved. Rewards are predetermined incentives that children receive upon reaching their goals. These rewards can be customized to suit individual preferences, making the process engaging and motivating. You can find the available rewards (achieved but not yet taken) in the Dashboard screen, in the Goal's tile. You can toggle between the Goals/Rewards.

Streaks

Streaks measure the number of days in a row a child has received a thumbs up. It is our way to encourage a child to constantly be on the look out for thumbs up moments, and being consistent with their positive behavior choices. Consistency is what turns positive behavior choices in healthy behavior habits.

Timeline

The timeline is a real-time feed of events and actions taken in Thumsters. If your child gets given a thumb (notes included), achieves a goal, redeems a reward or logs an emotion from their kid's view it will show up in the feed.

Reports

Reports are a form of analytics. If you are on a free version of Thumsters you will see the tile in the Dashboard screen and it will show you 'today's' count of thumbs up and thumbs down. You will not have access to the full analytics inside the tile itself. If you are on Thumsters Plus, the tile will also show you the latest emotion your child has logged for today if one has been logged. Tapping on the tile will show you analytics such as the the most common thumbs up and thumbs down reasons across a day, 7 days, and a month, as well as heat map that shows a overall view of your child's behavior over a day, 7 days and a month.

Kids view

The kids view is the screen your child sees in Thumsters. In the kids view your child can: choose an emotion to send to his carer describing how he felt today, see his Thumb bank, allocate thumbsbucks from his bank to a goal. The Kids view screen is accessed through a password of a colour and a shape, this is so siblings can't access each others views and cause havoc! It is a Thumsters Plus feature.

Thumsters Plus

Thumsters Plus is the feature rich, paid for version of Thumsters. It has a range of pro features.
