The Tasks feature helps you build great habits at home by assigning fun, rewarding chores for your kids to complete. Here’s how to set them up, sort them, and reward your child when they follow through.

Creating a New Task

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard in your parent view.

  2. Tap the Chores tile.

  3. Select ‘New Task +’ to get started.

  4. Name your task or chore – e.g. “Make your bed” or “Feed the dog.”

  5. Choose a fun emoji icon to make it visual and engaging.

  6. Set the Thumbucks reward your child will earn for completing the task.

  7. Choose when in the day they are to be completed (any time, morning, afternoon or evening) and how often it should be completed:

    • One-time (on a selected date), or

    • Recurring on specific days of the week.

  8. Review the task details, and if needed, assign it to other children as well.

  9. Tap ‘Save’ — and you’re done!

Sorting Task Order

Want to prioritise certain chores or routines in a particular order to complete?

  1. Tap the ‘Sort’ button at the top of the task list. (3 lines top right corner)

  2. Press and hold a task to move it.

  3. Drag it to the desired position, then release.

  4. Tap ‘Sort’ button again to exit sorting mode.

Your child’s list will now display in this updated order.

How Kids Complete Tasks

Kids can access their task list through Kids View.

  • When they finish a chore, they simply tap the circle next to the emoji. A little orange clock icon appears in the circle, signalling it is awaiting parents approval.

  • The task will move to a list in the parents account, awaiting your approval. This can be found in the child's dashboard, inside their Chores tile.

From here you can choose to:

  • Approve and give them their Thumbucks reward

  • Reject if the task wasn’t done properly. If rejected, the chore will show a red circle with a white ! next to the chore in both the parent and child list, showing it still needs to be completed.

Parents can also mark off tasks directly from their own list if needed.

Recurring Tasks

Recurring tasks are a great way to build daily or weekly routines. Examples include:

  • Brush your teeth

  • Unpack your school bag

  • Feed the pets

All Kids Chores

The all kids chores button in the parents app view, allows you to look at every chore ever set across all your kids and edit it if needed. Please be aware if editing the chore, it will change the chore from the moment it is reset, including if it has already been completed by any child on that day. You may need to reapprove that chore for a child that's already completed it and been approved. Thumbucks already given will not be undone.

Deleting a chore

To delete a chore, swipe right on the chore and tap the red rubbish bin icon. It will ask you if you want to:
* Remove chore for this date only
* Remove chore forever
If you choose to remove it forever and it assigned to other kids in the family, it will ask you if you want to delete the chore forever (Which affects all kids assigned to this chore) or change the chore assignment so you only delete for a particular child.
You cannot undo a deleted chore if deleted from the family forever.
